Paul Hawkins
Paul is a Bristol based poet whose fourth collection; Place Waste Dissent, a book of avant-garde protest poetry/collage, was published on Nov 12th 2015 by Influx Press; publishers of provocative, site-specific literature. You can buy a copy here. His past has been chameleon-like . . . musician, squatter, tour manager, freelance journalist, gardener, publisher, improviser, collaborator and a manager of an Elvis Presley impersonator. He studied the art of sleeping standing up & drinking lying down with nearly disastrous consequences.

Sarer Scotthorne
“I have written poetry all of my life and was encouraged by various friends and associates to take it up more seriously when I was forty-four. I am now a published poet with an MA in Creative Writing. I teach writing and martial arts and have collaborated with some wonderful writers.
Teaching martial arts for Wutan Chinese Martial Arts has been a really major part of my daily existence, so I was delighted to collaborate with Albert Zang (film maker) and Tony Salinas (micro-tonal composer) to create a film and poetry pamphlet, Semblance, which is about being a female martial-artist and the relationship I have with two of my swords”.

Dan Duggan
Dan Duggan is formerly a patient at The Bethlem Royal Hospital, the oldest psychiatric hospital in the country. Much of his thirties has been spent on various psychiatric wards, mainly under the provision of the 1983 Mental Health Act. Now in recovery his work has appeared multiple times in Ambit, Poetry and Audience and Magma.
“I am a 40 year old artist from south east London with a long history of mental illness. Having been detained under the mental health act on 3 occasions I have witnessed the nature of a variety of institutions and draw my inspiration from those I have met during my admissions. My aim is to investigate the face and its communications repeatedly in order to draw out the poetry of stasis. I want to engage with the vision I have of the conditions under which I have been kept safe. I do not seek to rob the image of its meaning, but to emphasise the context in which each image functions as a cipher. I have worked for 14 years on this same construct and have drawn comfort from the simple act of drawing.”

Future of Print?
Filming – Alan Van Wijgerden will be around at InZine #5 recording a sequel to his first film, Blood & Ink, to capture the zine and indie press culture – anyone who does not wish to be filmed – please let Alan know on the day.
-Submit work to InZine #5-
We would like to commemorate the event by producing a FREE zine that can be handed-out to visitors on the day . We would like to feature one submission from each zine/press/artist to produce or donate a piece of work relating to the theme of MENTAL HEALTH
This might take the form of:
Poetry/Flash-fiction/Squiggles/Creative non-fiction/Artwork/Photograph/Text message/Short story/Blog feed/Tweets
It would be great to produce a SHARED collection of creative work that promotes mental health awareness and the insights of lived experience through GREAT ART.
Submission guidance – it is important to share words, creativity and ideas – but we do ask you have permission from any person or artist involved in your submitted work.
